Her passion for process improvement has driven enhanced accuracy and consistency, while reducing time spent on repetitive processes.  
Mary Kate';s career spans over a decade in real estate accounting, where she has managed accounting for corporate, residential, construction, and commercial sectors. Prior to Avanti, she most recently served as Property Controller with Cortland, a multifamily operator. She oversaw accounting for over 100 properties and played a crucial role in managing the financial intricacies of acquisitions, dispositions, and recapitalizations, handling transactions involving over 20 assets simultaneously. During her 8-year tenure at Cortland, Mary Kate significantly contributed to the accounting department’s growth, while the company’s portfolio expanded from under 50 to over 250 properties. 
Mary Kate holds both a bachelor's and master';s degree in accounting from Southern Polytechnic State University (now part of Kenesaw State University) and is a registered Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina.
